Palazzo Labia (Campo San Geremia) will host Cartoons on the Bay, first international festival of television and cross-media animation, founded by Gianpaolo Sodano in 1995. The festival, organized by RAI, aims to promote the work of animators, authors and producers, offering the chance to meet with buyers and distributors.

The exhibition thus now provides the extraordinary opportunity to explore and present one of the most significant but lesser known sections of the Cini collection. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the artist’s birth and the 30th anniversary of his participation to the 1986 Venice Biennale, where he was awarded the Golden Lion. Sigmar Polke holds a special place in the Pinault Collection: already presented in four of the exhibitions at Palazzo Grassi-Punta della Dogana, the artist is now given the place of honour with a retrospective on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the reopening of Palazzo Grassi.

“Accrochage”, a collective exhibition curated by Caroline Bourgeois, brings together nearly seventy works that have not been on display since they became part of the Pinault Collection and over two thirds of the artists have never been presented in an exhibition of the collection. Specifically conceived for Punta della Dogana, the show will take up the entire exhibition space of the museum.
