Venice Marathon is an international marathon on the Olympic distance of 42.195 kilometers, a globally recognized run on a unique path in the world, where every kilometer is full of charm and splendour: it starts in front of the magnificent Villa Pisani in Stra, a small town west of Venice, and from there it proceeds along the Riviera del Brenta. The finish line is in Riva Sette Martiri in Venice but the runners before being greeted by the cheering crowds have to pass over 14 bridges and cross the beautiful St. Mark’s Square.
Venice Marathon is not only a spectacular race but it is a “container” of events that even after many years continues to engage and excite everyone!
Venice marathon has always combined its events to a charitable purpose supporting different solidarity projects. This year Venicemarathon has decided to involve the marathon runners in it.
Each runner will have the chance to support a charity and raise funds just running for a great cause: by applying for the race the runners will support one of the not-profit associations listed in the Charity Program and starts to raise funds for the association.
The Sport and Leisure Fair born in 1991 will host the Venice marathon headquarters and sponsor village: an unavoidable stop for all participants of Venice marathon to collect their bib and race packet, a sport village where you can find the biggest producers of running shoes, clothing and accessories, the retailers of sport articles, the race organizations, or you can meet the top runners. Exposport is in a fascinating location, close to Venice, in the largest city park of Europe: San Giuliano Park.
